MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte's partner, Honeylet Avanceña, on Monday led first spouses in a viewing of replica jewels and photos that showcase the 50-year history of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Avanceña's guests at the Cultural Center of the Philippines included Rosmah Mansor of Malaysia, Ho Ching of Singapore and Naraporn Chan-o-cha of Thailand, among others.

The jewels on display at "ASEAN at 50: Power That Flows" were created by Tawid Crafts Corp and artisans of the late antiquarian jeweler Ramon Villegas, Paul Formaran, who helped curate the display, told ABS-CBN News.

"We focused on how ASEAN power is defined by the centrality of water in the region. Water physically separates Southeast Asian nations, but at the same time, it has also unified them, Formaran said.

The exhibit commissioned by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts will be open to the public from November 16 to 20.

After viewing the exhibit, the group will proceed to the Manila Hotel for lunch and a fashion show by Filipino designer Randy Ortiz.

Avanceña will also give the first spouses boxes of chocolates as tokens from the Davao City, the President's hometown.
