LAPU-LAPU, Cebu - Hundreds of devotees of Our Lady of Rule on Tuesday flocked here in the city to pay homage to the miraculous image also known as "Birhen sa Regla," which is believed to have helped many people in need.
“I am here to give thanks,” said Elisa Ocaña, who has been a devotee for more than 10 years.
The miraculous image was taken out of national shrine Nuestra Señora Virgen Dela Regla Parish for a fluvial procession around here in the city.
Local government has tightened security in Lapu-Lapu as they expect a surge of visitors for the fiesta, which is on November 21.
“We want this fiesta to be meaningful, not just for the people of Lapu-Lapu, but for all the Filipinos,” said Mayor Ahong Chan.
