BAGUIO CITY -- Farmers from Sagada town, Mountain Province shared their vegetable harvest to the victims of earthquake in Cotabato.
Sagada Mayor James Pooten said “Oplan Sayote” was launched last week upon the suggestion of the farmers and the Department of Agriculture (DA).
A truck owned by the local government roamed the streets of Sagada’s Eastern barangays where sayote is grown.
As of posting, 25 sacks of sayote have been gathered and turned over to DA regional office in Baguio City. The agency will arrange the transfer to Cotabato.
A similar effort is being done in the town of Bauko.
