MANILA — Earthquakes jolted Eastern Samar and Sultan Kudarat Friday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The first quake, a 5.1 magnitude temblor was recorded around 1:31 p.m., 33 kilometers west of the city of Guiuan, with a depth of 3 kilometers.
Another earthquake was felt 7 minutes later, at around 1:38 PM, 16 kilometers east of Columbio, with a strength of magnitude 4.1.
The tectonic tremor occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers around 8:50 p.m. 16 kilometers northeast of General Luna town.
Those who felt the quake in Sultan Kudarat are expected to feel aftershocks, Phivolcs said.
