MANILA (UPDATE 3) - Several local governments in the provinces of Leyte and Southern Leyte suspended classes at all levels and office work in government offices on Friday, Nov. 8, in commemoration of the sixth anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda.
The following municipalities have announced class and work suspensions:

- Palo
- Tabontabon
- Tacloban City
- Tanauan
- Tolosa
Southern Leyte
- Maasin City
- Macrohon
- Tomas Oppus
Eastern Samar
- Borongan City
- Guiuan
- Llorente
Biliran
The provincial government of Samar has also suspended classes at all levels and office work in government offices on Friday.
Some 6,300 people were killed or went missing after Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) struck central Philippines on Nov. 8, 2013, triggering storm surges that wiped out entire communities.
