SILAY CITY - A 50-year-old male pre-school teacher was arrested Monday in Silay City, Negros Occidental for alleged sexual abuse.

Supt. Noel Polines of the Silay City Police said they served a warrant of arrest against the suspect after receiving a complaint from the 13-year-old male victim.

The suspect and the victim met via Facebook. Polines said the suspect sent a friend request to the victim sometime in January this year.

He then allegedly invited the victim to visit him in school where the alleged sexual abuse happened.

The victim contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the suspect denied infecting the victim. He also said his medical records would show he doesn't have STD.

He also claimed that the victim kept coming back to him.

The court has set a P200,000 bail for the suspect's temporary release.

He is facing three counts of sexual abuse under Republic Act 7610.
