Two motorcycle-for-hire drivers carted away almost P1 million worth of jewelry and gadgets inside a resort in Boracay Island, police said Monday.

Police arrested Recto Retos Jr. of Sitio Cabanbanan, Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Malay in a follow-up operation. His alleged cohort, a minor, remains at large.

According to police investigation, the robbery took place last Oct. 26 wherein the suspects reportedly went inside the balcony of the victim.

Crisanta Pedersen then reported to the hotel staff after she found out that her sling bag was missing. The bag contained jewelry, gadgets, and credit card.

A security camera caught the suspects exiting the resort at 3 a.m. that day.

The minor's parents surrendered some of the stolen items to authorities. Retos, meanwhile, will face charges for theft.

"Minsan kasi yung mga habal-habal drivers, nag-aabang sila sa ATM machine o sa mga bangko. Kapag may sumasakay sa kanila, dinadala nila tapos pinupuntahan nila yung subject nila," sabi ni Senior Insp. Jose Mark Gesulga, acting Boracay police chief.
