MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday met with some of his supporters during his 2-day official visit to Japan.

The meeting happened at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, where Duterte met his group of supporters who call themselves “Amazing Duterte Ninjas Team Japan.”

“We love Duterte!” shouted the supporters who waited for hours for the President.

Duterte began his two-day official visit to Japan on Monday, where he met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and several other government officials.

Another highlight of his second visit to Japan was his meeting with Japanese Emperor Akihito and wife Empress Michiko.

The official visit also saw Filipino business leaders striking $6 billion worth of deals with Japanese firms.

The Japanese government also pledged its support for the rebuilding of conflict-stricken Marawi City, while details of the Japan-funded Manila subway system were also discussed.
