DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur—Some 20 patients stayed in tents outside Sunga Hospital in Digos City, Davao del Sur after a powerful earthquake damaged parts of the building on Tuesday.
Some sections of the hospital, including the pedia ward, sustained damage from the 6.6-magnitude tremor.
73-year-old Pedro Burgos, who is looking after his 2-month old grandson, said he felt more safe camping outside.
The hospital management has yet to issue a statement on how long the patients will be staying in tents.
Digos City, which felt the tremor at intensity 7 that causes "destructive" shaking, was among the badly-affected areas in Mindanao.—Report from Berchan Louie Angchay, ABS-CBN News
