MANILA - Transport regulators reminded provincial bus companies on Monday to stick to their trip schedules amid complaints that some bus trips were delayed as much as 8 hours.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said bus companies will have to answer to the agency over delayed trips and other inconveniences to passengers.
"Kailangan ho, they comply with the time na sinasabi nila, kasi ho itong mga pasahero, they also manage yung pagbiyahe nila, yung pag-alis nila," LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada told radio DZMM.
Lizada also said bus companies need to provide food and water to passengers whose buses have been delayed.
"Kung made-delay ang inyong mga bus, please attend to the personal needs ng inyong mga pasahero."
The LTFRB said it has given special permits to provincial bus companies to add up to 948 buses to their routes amid the expected influx of passengers going to their home provinces on All Saints Day.
