Residents in the Visayas and Mindanao should brace for rains on All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day due to a low pressure area or brewing storm, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

Last tracked 625 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at 3 a.m., the LPA is expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone, said PAGASA meteorologist Obet Badrina.

"We're expecting na malaki ang tsansa ng mga pag-ulan in Visayas and Mindanao, lalo na ngayong coming holiday, Undas," Badrina told DZMM.

(There is a big chance of rain in the Visayas and Mindanao, especially in this coming All Saint's Day holiday)

An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) or belt of clouds will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the Caraga, Davao and Soccskargen regions.

The regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera meanwhile will experience cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast the monsoon or amihan.

Wind convergence will also bring cloudy skies in Aurora province.

Thunderstorms, on the other hand, were seen in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Badrina said.
