MANILA - Consular services in several Mindanao offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) were suspended Tuesday following a powerful earthquake that struck the southern regions.
The DFA suspended operations in its consular offices in the cities of Davao, Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro, Tagum, and General Santos following the magnitude 6.6 temblor.
Those with confirmed appointments who were unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension will be accommodated until Nov. 29 during regular office hours, the DFA said.
Phivolcs said Tuesday's quake was traced to Tulunan town, Cotabato.
It noted that the tremor was the main shock that came after the 6.3-magnitude temblor that struck the same area on Oct. 16, killing 7 people and hurting 215 others.
