MANILA - A bus driver tested positive in the initial drug screening conducted by authorities in different bus terminals in Cubao, Quezon City on Monday.
But Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency officer-in-charge Ruel Lasala refused to identify the driver as he still needs to take confirmatory drug tests.
He explained the initial results could just mean that the driver is using prescriptive medicine, and not illegal drugs.
At least 147 bus drivers and conductors in Cubao voluntary took the surprise drug test as authorities prepared for the large volume of passengers leaving the city for Undas.
The drug test in 4 Cubao bus terminals was conducted by joint forces of the PDEA, the Land Transportation Office, and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. --report from Kevin Manalo, ABS-CBN News
