MANILA- The Ombudsman said Friday it filed 2 graft cases against the late Maguindanao congressman Simeon Ampatuan Datumanong over the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund in 2012.

In cases of death of an accused, a death certificate has to be submitted to the anti-graft court before it can be officially recognized.

Charged along with Datumanong were former National Commission on Muslim Filipinos commissioner Mehol Sadain, accountant Fedelina Aldanese, cashier Olga Sajise Galido and a certain Aurora Ocular Aragon-Mabang.

Maharlikang Lipi Foundation Inc. project manager President Grcita Cecilia Mascenon-Sales and general manager Queenie Rodriguez were also charged.

Datumanong, who passed away on Feb. 28, 2017, allegedly authorized the release of P3,420,000 to MLFI for livelihood projects which did not go through bidding.

“Accused NCMF officers prepared the purported project accomplishment reports and certifications, which Datumanong, through his representative, signed or approved,” Ombudsman investigator Christian Uy said in the charge sheets.

The cases of Datumanong and his co-accused were raffled off to the 3rd Division.
