ZAMBOANGA CITY – Three soldiers and a suspected militant were killed when government troops clashed with members of the Abu Sayyaf group in Patikul, Sulu on Friday, the military said.
Troops from the 62nd, 61st and 64th marine companies encountered the group led by sub-commanders Alnijar Ekit and Aldi Alun in Timpook village, according to a military report.
Three other soldiers were wounded in the fighting, which lasted for several minutes, the report said.
