MANILA—A 4.5-magnitude aftershock struck Cotabato early Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The light tremor was an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that rattled southern Mindanao on Oct. 16, the agency added.
The aftershock occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers southeast of Tulunan town at 2:45 a.m.
Intensity 3, which may feel like the passing of a light truck and cause hanging objects to swing moderately, was recorded in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
The Phivolcs said the aftershock may not cause damage.
State seismologists have recorded more than 700 aftershocks since Oct. 16 and could last for a few months.
