MANILA - The state weather bureau on Tuesday said it continues to keep an eye on a tropical storm just outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

In a 4:00 a.m. forecast, PAGASA Senior Weather Specialist Chris Perez said severe tropical storm Yutu was last spotted at 2,925 kilometers east of Visayas.

Perez said current forecast models show that the storm, which is packing 110 kph winds near center, is not likely to enter PAR nor will affect any area in the country.

Meanwhile, he said the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in parts of Mindanao and Palawan.
