UST grad tops October 2019 CPA board exams

MANILA (UPDATE) - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Monday that 2,075 out of 14,492 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination this month.

Justine Louie Bautista Santiago of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) topped the board examination with a rating of 90.33 percent.

Marlou Borbon Alinsonorin of the University of San Carlos came in second with 89.67 percent, followed by Christian Lawrence Cruz Go of the De La Salle University-Manila with 89.50 percent.

Go is the son of Senator Bong Go.

“I am very proud of my son. Hindi ko mailarawan ang kaligayahang nadadama ko ngayon (I cannot describe the happiness I feel now),” the lawmaker told reporters in a statement.

“Matapos ang ilang taong pag-aaral, nagbunga din ang sakripisyo,” he said. “Sana magiging mas matagumpay pa siya sa kanyang buhay.”

(After several years of studying, our sacrifices paid off. I hope he becomes more successful in life.)

The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman was this year’s top performing school with a passing rate of 84.21 percent.
