MANILA—Tropical storm Perla will have no direct effect on the Philippine landmass as it continue its way out of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said Saturday.

The weather disturbance was located 690 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes as of 3 a.m., packing winds of 85 kilometers per hour and 105 kph gusts, said PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza.

Perla, with international name Neoguri, is expected to exit the PAR on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

However, occasional gusty conditions may prevail over extreme northern Luzon until early next week due to the prevailing northeasterly surface wind flow.

Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Cagayan will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
