MANILA—A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck North Cotabato late Thursday, Phivolcs said, a day after a 6.3-magnitude tremor hit the province and parts of Mindanao.
The tectonic tremor occurred at 11:05 p.m. approximately 22 kilometers (km) at a depth of 13 km northeast of Tulunan town, where the much stronger quake first hit.
Areas that felt instrumental intensities were:
- Intensity IV - Koronadal City
- Intensity III - Malungon, Sarangani
- Intensity II - Tupi, South Cotabato
- Intensity I - Alabel, Sarangani; Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental
Phivolcs said the temblor was an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that hit Tulunan earlier.
Damage to structures is not expected from the aftershock.
