MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday promised to help the family of OFW Mary Jean Alberto who died after falling off a building in the United Arab Emirates on Oct. 2.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola said they will immediately act as soon results of the forensic investigation has been released.

The DFA also provided Alberto's family a legal counsel.

Alberto, a native of Mountain Province, reportedly fell 13 stories from her employer's residence in Shams Meera Tower Al Reem in Abu Dhabi.

Her family said Alberto might have been pushed off the building by her employer, who did not immediately tell them of the OFW's fate after her death.

The employer alleged Alberto might have committed suicide.

However, Alberto's family said Mary Jean told them her employer allegedly tried to choke her, less than 24 hours prior her death. - Report from Jeffrey Hernaez, ABS-CBN News
