MANILA - Dates in fastfood chains are typical for couples.
But for Jayson Ablitas, he found a way to spice things up by asking his girlfriend’s hand in marriage at a Jollibee branch in Rosario, Batangas.
Ablitas tugged heartstrings of customers and netizens, with a video of his proposal to his girlfriend, Monica Cordero going viral on social media.
The video, uploaded by Jollibee Rosario shift manager Chryzelle Amada, showed an employee handing out the order of Ablitas and Cordero.
When the order came, both of them opened their food packs at the same time, with Cordero smiling in shock at the sight of a ring tucked inside the container, as the song "Marry Me" by Jason Derulo played in the background.
The words "Will you marry me?" were also written inside the food pack.
Within a few seconds, Cordero nodded - hinting at accepting Ablitas' proposal.
Ablitas proceeded to kneel down and ask her hand once more in marriage, with customers applauding in the background.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Amada said the proposal was made in time for the couple's 10th anniversary.
The video racked up 21,000 reactions along with 11,000 shares.
