Tremor felt up to QC, Navotas
MANILA - A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Quezon province on Monday, the state seismology office said.
The tremor hit before 10 a.m. Its epicenter was located 8 kilometers west of neighboring Panukulan town, said Phivolcs.
At a depth of 1 kilometer, the tectonic quake was felt at intensity 4 in Quezon's Panukulan, Burdeos, and Infanta towns, the agency said.
Intensity 4 may feel like the passing of heavy truck and may cause hanging objects to swing considerably, it added.
Intensity 3, which may be felt like the vibration from the passing of a light truck, was observed in Quezon City and Real, Quezon, said Phivolcs.
The tremor was also felt at intensity 2 in Navotas City. This intensity may be noticed by few individuals at rest indoors and could cause hanging objects to swing slightly.
The quake is not expected to spawn aftershocks or major damage, Phivolcs said.
