MANILA - Commission on Elections spokesperson James Jimenez on Monday resigned as the focal person of the source code review after an “inappropriate image” was flashed during the poll body’s launching event last week.
Jimenez apologized and took responsibility for the “flashing” of picture of a bikini-clad actress during the source code review kick-off event held at the De La Salle University last Saturday.
“I would like to apologize for the inappropriateness of the image,” Jimenez told reporters.
“The image was on my computer, desktop image siya. Apparently lumalabas yung desktop image for a fleeting moment when they switch between programs,” he said.
Jimenez said he had to step down to preserve the Comelec’s source code review’s integrity and transparency.
Jimenez will remain as the poll body’s director for the planning department, and spokesperson.
