MANILA -- Supreme Court Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando took his oath as the newest member of the top court Thursday, a day after his appointment was announced.
Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta facilitated Hernando’s oath-taking as the 180th associate justice. Hernando is President Rodrigo Duterte's seventh appointee to the 15-member Supreme Court.
Hernando, a former associate justice of the appellate court, fills up the vacancy left by former Supreme Court associate justice and now Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the San Beda College of Law and was admitted to the bar in 1991. He later pursued post-graduate studies at the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business and the San Beda Graduate School of Law. -- with a report from Dexter Ganibe, ABS-CBN News
