MANILA—The trough or extension of typhoon Hagibis (international name) will bring rains in parts of the Philippines Thursday, the state weather agency said.
Bicol Region and eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate rains, weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz.
Generally fair weather is expected in most parts of Luzon, she added.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms
Hagibis was last spotted 1,845 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 200 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 245 kph.
The US-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) categorizes Hagibis as super typhoon, threatening to make a direct hit on Japan.
