Central Visayas Regional Director Sinas to take over NCRPO
MANILA - National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Guillermo Eleazar has been promoted to Chief of the Directorial Staff of the Philippine National Police, according to PNP chief Oscar Albayalde.
The Chief of Directorial Staff is the fourth highest position in the PNP.
The move was triggered by the retirement of the PNP's second highest official, Lt. Gen. Fernando Mendez Jr.
The police force's current number 3 man, Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa will move up to replace Mendez, while Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan will replace Gamboa as PNP Deputy Chief for Operations.
Gamboa, Cascolan, and Eleazar are considered as front runners to replace Albayalde as PNP Chief.
Gamboa and Cascolan, like Albayalde, are from the Philippine Military Academy Sinagtala Class of 1986.
Eleazar, on the other hand, is from PMA Hinirang Class of 1987.
Eleazar's mistah, Central Visayas Regional Director BGen. Debold Sinas will replace him as head of the NCRPO.
The PNP has yet to decide on a new regional director for Region 7, replacing Sinas.
