ILOILO CITY—A South Korean man was found dead inside his apartment in Jaro, Iloilo City on Tuesday morning.

Jin Soo Chun, 57, was found lying face down, with a thin rope on top of his body.

His son Hye Seong Chun, 25, has been brought into police custody for detention and is facing possible charges of parricide.
Based on police investigation, the victim arrived at 6:30 a.m. from a trip to Baguio City. A commotion followed between him, his wife, and 25-year-old son Hye Seong Chun.

The apartment’s caretaker said the Chun family asked her to call for an ambulance, which arrived at around 9:30 a.m.
SPO1 Arnel Villarante said the victim allegedly pointed his knife at his wife, causing his son to defend his mother.

Villarante said the thin rope and the broken pieces of plates and other things indicate that there was a foul play on the death of the victim.

Police investigation further revealed that there are rope marks on the hands of the victim's son.

According to the family’s helper Ruffa Libuna, the couple used to fight against each other. They fought about business but Libuna could not understand because they talked in the Korean language.
The victim was an owner of several businesses in Iloilo, Manila and Baguio City.

The suspect has yet to issue a statement regarding the death of his father.
