MANILA - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) on Wednesday urged students to write letters to their beloved teachers in celebration of the 50th World Post Day.
Students aged 10-15 were encouraged to thank their mentors for their sacrifices and dedication by mailing letters through the Post Office.
Cash prizes await lucky winners of the raffle and national and regional competition, PHLPost said in a statement.
The winner of the national competition will also represent the country in the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) letter writing contest in Switzerland, it added.
"The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the postal service’s role in everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development," it said.
