MANILA - Valenzuela City Rep. Wes Gatchalian has apologized after his staff member parked his vehicle in a slot reserved for persons with disabilities.
In a letter posted on his Facebook page on Monday, Gatchalian acknowledged that while he was not driving the vehicle, "it was my duty to ensure that my staff constantly acts in a manner that respects and is conscious of the rights of every person."
"Nothing less should be expected of my office," he added.
The lawmaker said he has suspended the staff involved in the incident that occurred in October.
He added that he will continue pursuing policies that promote accessibility for PWDs.
"Please accept my apology," ended his letter
