MANILA - An armored personnel carrier brought Maasim Mayor Aniceto Lopez Jr. of Sarangani to the provincial prosecutor's office for his inquest proceedings on Monday.

Authorities found P5 million worth of shabu, 2 firearms, an explosive, and a list of suspected drug dealers when they raided Lopez's Sarangani home last Friday.

Lopez, who was not home then, surrendered to provincemate, Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao hours later.

Flanked by soldiers and anti-narcotics agents, the mayor arrived at the prosecutor's office wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet.

He was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs
Act and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
