MANILA (UPDATE) - Malacañang's spokesperson drew flak online Tuesday after he denied that Metro Manila is experiencing a transportation crisis.

Salvador Panelo earlier reacted to activist Renato Reyes Jr., who said a "mass transport crisis" is plaguing commuters in Metro Manila.

May solusyon naman dun, if you want to arrive early (at) your destination, then you go there earlier."

Netizens were quick to rebut Panelo, saying he does not have an idea of how grueling public transportation could be.

"WOW. PANELO, the gull (sic) of you. BAKIT HINDI NIYO TANGGAPIN NA MAY PROBLEMA TALAGA TAYO," a netizen tweeted.

#commuterLife."

Due to the criticisms, the spokesman placed second in Twitter's trending list on Tuesday.

Panelo did not reply to ABS-CBN News when sought for comment.

The Metro Manila's traffic situation grew worse after 3 stations of LRT-2 were closed due to a fire last week.
