SOUTH COTABATO - Police have arrested four suspected drug pushers and users in buy-bust operations in parts of Mindanao on Thursday.

Two carpenters were arrested in a checkpoint by the police in Barangay Lumakil, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Police blocked two men for not wearing helmet, but found suspected illegal drugs during the inspection.

Police found two motorists, Satar Tantong and Andrew Yang to be in possession of two pieces of rolled suspected dried marijuana leaves.

The suspects strongly denied the items found but the police, however, filed a case of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspects.

Meanwhile, in General Santos City, 33 year-old driver Jomar Senarillos was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Nasa Village, Barangay Fatima.

A sachet of suspected shabu and a P500 bill used as marked money were recovered from his possession.

Senarillos refused to give a comment.

According to Police Chief Inspector Mae Grace Licudan, a previously arrested suspect informed them of the illegal activities of Senarillos.

“Nag-conduct ng validation yung intel officer natin kung totoo nga yung sinabi nung naunang nahuli natin. So, validated ang information, so pinlano natin ang operation at nahuli sya," Licudan said.

(Our intelligence officer validated what the previously arrested suspect told us. We have been planning the operation and we caught him.)

The General Santos City Anti-illegal Drugs Special Task Group also conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 5-Santo Niño, Barangay Apopong, Thursday night and collared a fish car driver, Alvin Garcia.

Recovered from the suspect were two sachets of suspected shabu and a P200 marked money used as bait to lure him.

The suspect denied allegations that he is selling illegal drugs.

According to the police, the suspect was a target in one of the drug raid they conducted last month but he was able to elude the operating policemen.

Authorities have filed a case of violation of RA 9165 against Garcia.
