MANILA - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on announced the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme for public utility vehicles will be suspended on September 30, Monday, in anticipation of the scheduled transport strike.
Members of the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) will be holding a transport strike to call for the suspension of the jeepney modernization program.
Meanwhile, the local government of Pasig will deploy vehicles to offer free rides to affected commuters.
Buses will offering rides from 5 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Several cities have also announced the suspension of classes.
