MANILA - For "consistently creating positive changes," Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has been awarded the Gusi Peace Prize for 2019.

The Gusi Peace Prize International group recognized Moreno's "untiring effort working for people's amelioration, and finding peaceful solutions for people's welfare."

The award recognizes Moreno's work from the time he was vice mayor and councilor.

"You contributed greatly to the lives of people through consistently creating positive changes," read the letter notifying Moreno, which was signed by Gusi chairman Barry Gusi and president Hazim Dawud.

Moreno, cited for his contribution as a statesman, will receive his award during a ceremony on Nov. 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
