NAGA CITY, Cebu - A Mass was celebrated Saturday morning at ground zero here, 10 days after a landslide buried dozens of houses killing over 60 people in Sitio Sindulan, Barangay Tinaan.
Members of the search and retrieval operations team attended the Mass.
In his homily, Fr. Charles Jaime said the efforts of responders were helping grieving families cope with the tragedy.
The priest also further encouraged them to continue being of service to others even after the search and retrieval operations.
He also prayed for the souls of 67 who perished and the 17 others still missing.
After the Mass, the team offered flowers and candles at the landslide site.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Baltazar Tribunalo said there were enough rescuers on the ground helping in the operation.
