MANILA—Former solicitor-general Florin Hilbay on Saturday said he is "seriously considering" running for the Senate next year.
"Yes, I’m considering it but there’s a process involved. Gusto lang muna nating mahinog ang prosesong iyon. I’ve been consulting various leaders and I think si vice-president Leni (Robredo) will also make a decision," Hilbay told radio DZMM.
"Pagkatapos ng kaniyang decision, I think that’s the time for me to decide. But, of course, I’m seriously considering the matter."
Hilbay ranked 57-66 in the latest Pulse Asia senatorial survey.
The Liberal Party, currently chaired by Robredo, on Tuesday endorsed the senatorial bids of Sen. Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aquino IV, human rights lawyer Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, and former Deputy House Speaker Lorenzo "Erin" Tañada II.
