MANILA (UPDATED) - Horacio Jr. and Carmina Castillo, parents of slain law freshman Horacio Castillo III, underwent DNA testing on Friday, as investigators collected evidence from the supposed crime scene.
Manila Police District chief Supt. Joel Coronel said DNA samples of Castillo's parents will be compared with the body fluid samples found at the library, where the alleged initiation rites took place.
Pieces of evidence like paddles believed to have been used during the hazing rites were recovered during an earlier search.
Castillo's parents were also asked to identify some items that may have belonged to their son.
astillo, who was supposed to join the Aegis Jvris fraternity, died due to massive injuries consistent with hazing, according to an autopsy report. He was brought to the Chinese General Hospital early Sunday, but was declared dead upon arrival.
He was laid to rest on Wednesday as his family and friends cried for justice.
