TACLOBAN CITY - A member of the Espinosa Drug Group and a trusted aide of suspected drug personality Kerwin Espinosa has voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Leyte Provincial Police Office identified the one who surrendered as Nick Junie Canin, 35.

Police said he was a high-value target because of his involvement in the illegal drug trade in Kananga, Leyte.

Canin brought with him two large sachets of suspected shabu weighing 8.7 grams, a caliber .45 pistol loaded with live ammunition, and a weighing scale.

The shabu had an estimated street value of P69,000, police said.

The items are under the custody of Albuera Police Station and will be turned over to the crime laboratory of PNP Regional Office 8 for laboratory examinations.
