MANILA - Authorities on Saturday arrested a man who left a suitcase containing some P35 million worth of shabu at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The suspect was identified as Nazarene Obillo.
The Bureau of Customs earlier reported that the bag contained a tag with Obillo's name on it.
A Customs examiner found the suitcase while sorting out unclaimed bags in the arrivals area.
The drugs, tucked in a brown suitcase, weighed about 5 kilograms.
Officials said the passenger boarded a Philippine Airlines flight from Hanoi.
The drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Authorities will also study CCTV footage to aid the investigation.
