MANILA - A twin engine aircraft of Skyjet Airlines was forced to seek emergency assistance upon landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after its landing gear was found to be defective.
The nose landing gear of a Skyjet aircraft carrying 44 passengers from Batanes was found to be defective following a wrong take-off roll at the Basco Airport.
Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely at around 9:57 a.m. and no one among the passengers was hurt.
Airport police and rescue personnel lined up along Runway 13-31 of the old domestic airport after the Manila control tower got a distress call from pilot Edgar Tamayo and co-pilot John Hatico.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has launched an investigation into the incident.
