MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said karma worked against the primary suspect in the killing of a pregnant Ombudsman prosecutor.
“Iyung isang pregnant prosecutor, p****g i*a pinakialam pa, sinasaksak. Sa bagay patay naman ang nagpatay doon. Totoo lang. So yung kasabay niyang nag-rape sa Davao, patay na rin,” Duterte said in a speech during the oath-taking of the new Career Executive Service Officers in Malacañang.
“What is very [coincidental] is pareho sila ng stab wounds. Exactly kung saan yung sinaksak, dito, dito rin siya. Iyung isa sinaksak dito, dito rin siya. Iyun ang karma ng diyos.”
Duterte was referring to Angelo Galvez Avenido Jr., alias “Moymoy,” the suspect in the killing of lawyer Madonna Joy Tanyag in June.
Avenido was arrested on June 3. Police recovered from him a pouch containing the ID of Tanyag, who was stabbed dead on a sidewalk in Barangay Vasra, Quezon City.
On July 27, Avenido was killed by the police after he allegedly grabbed the gun of a police escort inside Camp Karingal in Quezon City.
