MANILA- Typhoon Paeng has weakened further as it slowly hovers off Batanes, the state weather bureau said.
PAGASA said the typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Saturday.
As of 10 a.m., the center of Paeng was spotted at 735 km East of Basco, Batanes. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 195 kph.
While there are no tropical cyclone warning signals raised, Paeng may bring light to at times moderate rains over Northern Luzon on Friday, PAGASA said.
The weather bureau also warned that sea travel remains risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Visayas.
