MANILA - The Commission on Appointments on Wednesday approved the ad interim appointment of Commission on Elections Commissioner Antonio Kho Jr.
A fraternity brother of President Rodrigo Duterte at the San Beda College of Law, Kho was an undersecretary of the Department of Justice before he was appointed to the Comelec. He also served as secretary of the Senate Blue Ribbon and Ethics committees in 2000.

In July, he took over the position vacated by former Comelec Commissioner Sheriff Abas, who is now chairperson of the poll body.
Kho’s term will expire on February 2, 2022.

The CA, through a recommendation of Senate Committee on National Defense Chairman Gringo Honasan, also approved the nomination of Major General Roy Devesa, head of the military's training and doctrine command (TRADOC).
