MANILA (UPDATE) - Another cadet of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) was confined after sustaining injuries from a suspected hazing, following the death of cadet Darwin Dormitorio a week ago.
Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), said Tuesday the cadet was sent to the V. Luna General Hospital in Quezon City due to "signs of maltreatment."
The cadet, fortunately, can move despite his injuries, Arevalo said.
Two batchmates of Dormitorio were earlier sent to the V. Luna Hospital then to the St. Luke's Global City in Taguig City also due to injuries caused by suspected hazing.
The AFP said they are in stable condition.
Police had said Dormitorio, 20, died due to internal hemorrhage caused by blows on his body.
Three suspects, along with 20 witnesses, are now being investigated for their involvement.
The PMA head stepped down a few days after Dormitorio's death.
