2 alleged drug pushers arrested in GenSan, South Cotabato

GENERAL SANTOS CITY- An aircon technician was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the City Anti-illegal Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) in the city on Friday.

James Garcia was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu inside a lodging house in Barangay City Heights.

Retrieved from him was a sachet of shabu and a marked P500-bill.

Garcia was quick to deny that he was selling illegal drugs but Police Senior Inspector Oliver Pauya, CAIDSOTG chief, said they received information that the suspect is also using a minor as a runner in selling illegal drugs.

The CAIDSOTG will file cases of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, in a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion in the town of Tampakan in South Cotabato, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) of Region 12 nabbed another drug dealer on Thursday.

Alex Abojado, a laborer and resident of Purok San Isidro of the said barangay was caught in possession of nine packs and a half sack of suspected marijuana amounting to around P21,000.

The suspect denied the allegations but according to PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio, one of his agents acted as a buyer and bought a pack of suspected marijuana which resulted in the arrest. --with reports from Francis Canlas, ABS-CBN News
