MANILA - (UPDATE) ABS-CBN News has been shortlisted for the 2018 AIB awards for two of its reports.

The 9-part special report "Stories from under the rubble: Inside the battle of Marawi," penned by Patrick Quintos, was shortlisted in the interactive category.

Developed for the web by Regie Francisco and published on the ABS-CBN News Digital website, the special report features photos from Jonathan Cellona and Fernando Sepe Jr., and drone videos from Val Cuenca.

It looks at the different facets of the 5-month siege of Marawi City, staged by Islamic State sympathizers last year.

Meanwhile, the "Bandurria" episode of ABS-CBN News Channel's documentary series "Local Legends" was also shortlisted in the arts and culture category.

The episode is a look into the history of guitar-making in San Antonio, Pampanga.

A gala dinner for the awarding will be held in November, the awarding body said.

Now on its 14th year, the AIB awards honors excellence in factual video, audio, and interactive productions.

Presented by the Association for International Broadcasting, entries for the 2018 categories are judged by program producers, editors, journalists, and broadcasting executives from around the world.
