MANILA- Rescuers and residents in the mining town of Itogon, Benguet were asked to seek safer grounds on Friday due to the threat of another landslide.
This, after the Mines and Geosciences Bureau warned that the area is prone to another landslide.
The Office of Civil Defense in Cordillera said only 30 able-bodied rescuers would stay and continue the search for at least 57 people who remain trapped under the mud following a landslide last Saturday,
All week long, hundreds have been digging through the debris, looking for friends and relatives buried in the landslide triggered by Typhoon Ompong.
