WARNS PLOTTERS TO 'BE CAREFUL'
MANILA - The government is probing a list containing the names of Filipino-Americans who are allegedly involved in a plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte "by January 2017," a palace spokesman said Tuesday.
Though the motive for the ouster has yet to be established, the Palace claimed that such a plot is "being hatched."
"We have names, we know who they are, we are studying it," Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said.
The Communications chief declined to answer if high-ranking government officials are involved in the said plan to unseat the President, but he gave a stern warning against those who may be involved.
He said the government is taking "any destabilization moves seriously, whether it is rumor or just information."
"The warning is be careful what you plan, be careful what you do, make sure whatever you do is within the bounds of the constitution," added Andanar.
Andanar also declined to answer if the January 2017 ouster plot against Duterte is connected to the President's earlier pronouncement that "The Yellows are planning to impeach" him.
The Liberal Party, associated with the color yellow, already denied allegations that they are planning the ouster.
