Suspects in radio anchor's slay charged with murder

MANILA - Three suspects in the killing of a radio broadcaster in Kidapawan City have been charged with murder, the Presidential Task Force on Media Security said Thursday.

The task force's executive director, Joel Egco, said the charges were filed against Junell Jane Andagkit Poten, Sotero Jacolbe, Jr. and Dante Encarnacion Tabusares over the killing of Eduardo “Ed” Dizon.

Jacolbe and Tabusares are also local broadcasters, Egco said.

Last July, Dizon was was driving home from work when two men on a motorcycle shot him along Quezon Boulevard near Colegio de Kidapawan.

Dizon managed to steer his car to the side of the road but died from five gunshots to the body. --Report from Joyce Balancio, ABS-CBN News
